Meera Ramakrishnan, MD, is a seasoned internal medicine hospitalist with over a decade of experience, dedicated to serving the Washington, DC, metropolitan area. She’s been a valuable part of medical teams, including Kaiser Permanente, MedStar Washington Hospital Center, Rush University Medical Center, and Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
Dr. Ramakrishnan earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she received a scholarship and excelled academically. She later completed her internal medicine residency at Rush Medical Center in Chicago, IL. Her commitment to medicine extends beyond clinical practice, as evidenced by her involvement in research at institutions like Jacobi Hospital and Cornell University.
In addition to her medical prowess, Dr. Ramakrishnan is a compassionate volunteer, having served at organizations such as RAINN and the American Cancer Society. Her dedication to both her profession and community is further highlighted by her participation in medical teams for events like the New York City Marathon.
Dr. Ramakrishnan holds active medical licenses in multiple states, including the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, and previously in Illinois.

She’s an avid runner, with several marathons under her belt, including the NYC and Chicago Marathons. Her passion for music includes singing in religious groups and a cappella at Cornell, and she’s also a skilled cellist. Dr. Ramakrishnan’s artistic side shines through her intermittent participation in painting classes, resulting in a collection of unique artworks.
