Maria Borodatcheva, M.D., is a board-certified internal medicine physician. She has been in primary care practice for over 15 years. She obtained her medical degree from Russian Peoples Friendship University, graduating in 1999. with summa cum louder. Later, she moved to the United States and started her family. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Maryland in 2007.
Primary care has been her passion since completing her residency. She believes that the doctor-patient relationship should be based on trust and partnership to reach the best outcome possible. She provides her patients with accurate information about their health condition or diagnosis, discusses possible treatment options, explains the risks and benefits of each, and lets her patients decide which treatment option is best for them. Her main interests include hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypothyroidism, and gastrointestinal tract disorders.
Dr. Borodatcheva strongly believes in preventive medicine and encourages a healthy lifestyle. She sets a good example by maintaining a healthy diet and an active lifestyle. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
