Samantha Murray, PA-C, of Doctors First, is an experienced physician assistant serving patients in Rockville, Gaithersburg and Germantown, MD. Samantha is a native of Southern New Jersey and has had an interest in medicine from a young age.
Rather than attending traditional high school, Samantha decided to enroll at Gloucester County Institute of Technology, where she majored in health science as a high school student. She went on to earn her bachelor's degree in biomolecular science from The New York University Tandon School of Engineering in 2013.
As an undergraduate student at NYU, Samantha was selected to promote STEM education in a community preschool in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. There, she taught students weekly on topics such as solar energy, the human immune system, and nutrition.
Samantha also worked as a teaching assistant in the NYU Department of Biology, where she worked alongside professors to help students as they studied anatomy, physiology, genetics, and microbiology.
After completing her studies at NYU, Samantha studied at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She graduated from PCOM in 2015 with a master's degree in health science with a focus on physician assistant studies. After passing the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam, she began working at a family practice in her hometown of Swedesboro, NJ.
Since becoming a PA-C, Samantha has continued to work in primary care settings. She has gained extensive experience in preventative medicine and treating acute and chronic illnesses. She has a passion for patient education, women's health, and caring for underserved populations, including the LGBT community.
